CB Greedy Williams, Louisiana St.**

6’2” – 185 lbs. – 4.37

Given name is Andraez. Cousin is Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White. Comes from a difficult background, but managed to become a four-star recruit. Redshirted, then burst onto the scene the following year, intercepting six passes and breaking up another ten before picking off another two balls and defending nine more this past season; decided to forego his last two seasons of eligibility to declare. Tall, lanky, leggy cornerback who regularly moved back and forth between the left and right sides of the defense. Played a lot of off-coverage, but would also come up to the line and play press-man fairly regularly as well. Might be the top man-cover corner in this year’s class. Very good footwork to match opposing receivers’ releases at the line of scrimmage; also has the length to play bump-and-run, but wasn’t really asked to do that much during the games reviewed. Has the ability to flip his hips, get up to speed in a hurry, and run with opponents stride for stride down the field, with the route recognition skills to provide tight coverage through the route stem. Looks very smooth in his backpedal, with good balance and the ability to transition from the backpedal into shuffle coverage. Gives some generous cushions to opposing receivers but has the ability to break quickly on a spot when targeted, putting himself in position to break up passes; does a good job of keeping the play in front of him. Twitchy player who reacts very quickly to breaks. Combination of length and positioning put him in position to make plays on a high percentage of the throws in which he’s being targeted; has soft hands to secure the interception when he gets a chance. Didn’t play a lot of zone, and although he has many of the traits of a successful zone corner, that may not maximize his value. Uses his length and hands to discard blockers and find paths to the ball when defending against screens or coming up to make a tackle in the run game. However, tends to come in with too full a head of steam; would like to see him break down more, rather than flying in and attempting arm tackles. Will need to play with more discipline in that area, especially because of his thin frame. Size, length, athletic gifts, and man-coverage ability give him a good chance to end up as a team’s primary cornerback. Is expected to come off the board within the top ten to fifteen picks.
